Co-Op Classes
16 Fridays

A Co-Op class is being assembled for Members of Group Solutions. This CLASS DAY may provide up to 42 classes for Infants through High School. Click on the Co-Op Calendar to see the specific dates for this CLASS DAY.

The quality and variety of the classes will depend on YOU, fellow home educators. In April, we collect teachers among the membership. Our intention is to place parent/teachers into appropriate slots that will benefit the co-op and also be suitable for each family. The following is a sequence to follow if you are interested in participating.

  1. Fill in Membership Form NOW.
  2. Submit Class Proposal during April or before (don’t submit if you plan on assisting).
  3. Fill out Enrollment Form (class choices for students in your family)
  4. Pay Membership Fees.

Consider the following!

Time Commitment: Everyone works approximately two periods + prep time (about the same amount that would be needed for a Sunday School lesson) and subs for each other on their teams. Learn about Team Teaching.

Time Allocation

  • Meet with your team in August (strategize best team plan).
  • Create a syllabus to be distributed on the first day of class or send earlier via email.
  • Prepare for and participate on 16 Fridays.

Talent Commitment: We're looking for people who can lead classes that allow for discovery, hands-on activities, science labs, projects, presentations … We're seeking parent/teachers who have some knowledge or want to learn about and teach any of the classes on the Class Selections page. Your teaching time may be an enriching experience or specifically correlate with a particular curriculum (i.e. lab class for Apologia science curriculum or discussion class for an Abeka Economics curriculum …). The goal is to have as much variety as possible (academic and enrichment). Click on Class Proposal if you have an idea for a class to teach. Collect friends who would want to help you form a team!

Fee Commitment for Class Day Program:
$160 for the first student (age 4 or older by September 1)
$80 for the second student (age 4 or older by September 1)
$80 for the third student (age 4 or older by September 1)
All other children in your home are FREE.

Advantages of a Class Day Experience: Team teaching spreads the workload in preparation of courses and subjects. Students make life long friends. Parent/teachers make friends too. Older students enjoy limited accountability outside of their homes.

New member openings are available!

If you have not signed up to lead or assist in a class and you want to participate, then fill out the Enrollment Form and Membership Form so that we can find a place for you, as long as space permits.
